Growing up between cultures can be rich, beautiful, and sometimes confusing.
Our custom children’s storybooks for kids growing up between cultures are created to reflect belonging, continuity, and pride in who they are.
Each book reflects a child’s lived experience - moving between places, languages, traditions, or ways of belonging - and turns it into a story where their identity feels whole and affirmed. The focus is on belonging, continuity, and pride, rather than difference or explanation.
We begin with a private listening conversation with a parent or guardian, where you share your child’s family history, cultural influences, and everyday experiences. From there, we thoughtfully create an original story that reflects your child’s world with clarity and warmth.
These books are not lessons or cultural guides. They are personal stories that help a child see themselves fully reflected on the page.
Each Between Cultures book is:
- Written from scratch as an original children’s narrative
- Shaped around child's lived experience across cultures, languages, or traditions
- Created with care for mixed identities and lived experience
- Illustrated through careful human art direction to support tone, meaning, and emotional safety
- Created slowly and thoughtfully, never mass-produced or replicated
- Designed as a story a child can return to over time
How it works
- You will receive a short form to share your child’s story and initial context.
- We schedule a private listening session with a parent or guardian to better understand your child’s world.
- Your child’s story is carefully written and illustrated by our atelier, with sensitivity and imagination.
- You receive a beautifully printed storybook, created especially for your child.

Important to know
This is a made-to-order creation.
The story and illustrations are created only after commission, allowing each book to be truly personal and unique.
Commission Process: To begin, we invite you to submit a Request Your Book. For most commissions, we recommend arranging payment in installments, allowing the process to unfold with ease. Payments are arranged in three stages: the first installment is due before the storytelling phase begin, the second before the writing process commences, and the final installment upon delivery of the completed book. After receiving your request, we will personally contact you to confirm all details and arrange secure installment payments.
Refund Policy: Each Atelier Agolée book is a made-to-order commission, created specifically for one person or family. For this reason, all commissions are considered final sale. The work unfolds through a thoughtful, collaborative process that includes conversations, written exchanges, and review rounds, ensuring clarity and alignments at every stage. If your finished book arrives with a printing or shipping issue, please contact us. All concerns are reviewed personally and with care.
Shipping: All Atelier Agolée books are created as physical heirloom editions and are shipped once the commission is complete. Each book is carefully packaged and sent with appropriate tracking and insurance, reflecting the work and materials invested in its creation. Shipping costs are already quoted in the project price. We work with clients internationally and ship worldwide.
